MEXICO, ISLA DE MUJERES

With few options for travel from the US, I decided to spend some time at Isla de Mujeres, Mexico which has no travel restriction, very few  Covid 19 cases and inexpensive accommodations.  The beaches have been closed until September 7th but beach bars give  access to the sand and water. Was just here last November but at least its traveling.

After few weeks home relaxing and MOST IMPORTANTLY VISITING GRANDKIDS, it was time to escape the COLD and go on another adventure. 7 nights in BEAUTIFUL Isla de Mujeres in a private room was a good start.

Arrived at 10:30 am. I will have 6 hours for exploration until my bus to Playa del Carmen to visit Mindi.

Chichén Itzá is a complex of Mayan ruins on Mexico's Yucatán Peninsula. A massive step pyramid, known as El Castillo or Temple of Kukulcan, dominates the ancient city, which thrived from around 600 A.D. to the 1200s. Graphic stone carvings survive at structures like the ball court, Temple of the Warriors and the Wall of the Skulls. Nightly sound-and-light shows illuminate the buildings' sophisticated geometry.
