After getting my first passport in 2006 and traveling to climb Kilimanjaro in Tanzania my life changed. I began the process of getting rid of all my possessions and traveling the world. Traveling to over 125 countries and all 7 continents, hostels have been my home. This "new life" has taught me what is important and it was NOT accumulating money or possessions. Traveling is the best education. I hope my blog will encourage others to travel. My World Tattoo was a way for me to express my PASSION FOR TRAVEL.

ITALY, Rome

 June 16-19, 2021

After 2 hour train from Florence I arrived in Rome.  After checking in at 3 pm and getting situated I left the hostel for MY favorite walking tour. I went to the Colisseum, Piazza Novona,  Pantheon and Trevi Fountain. Once again,  I could not believe there were almost no tourists. The next 2 days I relaxed planned my Amalfi Coast trip which will last 10 days until I fly to Santorini to meet MY GROUP.

ITALY, Florence

After Venice I had 4 nights planned to visit Florence. Like Venice, the crowds are greatly diminished. I visited Piazzle de Michelangelo twice, one in the morning and at sunset. With maybe 200 people instead of over 1000 people there it was surreal.

ITALY, Venice

 June 10-12th, 2021

Only a short 1.5 hour train ride from Verona and I arrived in Venice. Not without incident as I accidentally  left my tablet on the train and did not realize until checking in my Hotel. Fortunately, after gaining Internet access I received a message that my tablet would be at a Perfume shop at the train station. An employee of the Perfume shop saw it on the train seat , picked it up and contacted me. I was thankful when I picked it up and gave her a 20 euro appreciation gift.

I am AMAZED how few tourists are in Venice. Good for me, bad for local businesses.  Since I have been here many, many times I will take my typical pics and then try to visit new places of interest. My reason for visiting Venice was to see it without the crowds and use an expiring Hotel  Voucher from trip previously canceled.
