Decided one of my favorite cities would be my birthday destination. A 5 hour train ride from Luxembourg delivered me to Bruges beautiful Old Town which include many canals. I have really enjoyed revisiting the city and meandering through its streets. Dolce far Niente (sweetness of doing nothing)
April 15-18, 2022
2 hour high speed train from Paris with speeds of 193 mph and I arrived in a NEW COUNTRY for me. The City Hostel is nice and only a 10 minute walk to the Old Town. The Old Town has its moment due to being perched high on am embankment but Bruges, Amsterdam, Prague and many others are more appealing to me.

April 9-15, 2022 (5) nights
Alexandria to Atlanta, then a 10 pm direct 8.5 hour flight to Paris to begin my 2 month European adventure. While April in Paris has showers more often than not, I was fortunate to have sunny warm days. My hostel, Le Village, is located only 2 blocks from Sacre Coeur Basilica. This was my 4th time here. The 2nd day I decided to walk and revisit most of the main sites. I walked to the Louvre, Tulleries Gardens, down the Seine River , to the Eiffel Tower and finally to the Arc de Triomphe. By the time I arrived back at the hostel 4 hours later I had walked 26,456 steps. I was sore for days. The rest of my trip was spent people watching in Montmarte.
